Returns & Exchanges
Buy With Confidence
Most new, unused parts can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If something isn't right, we're real people on the phone in Missouri — call us and we'll make it right.
We want you fully confident in every purchase. Here's exactly how returns, exchanges, damaged shipments, and warranties work — in plain terms.
Standard Returns
Most new, unused, uninstalled parts qualify for a return within 30 days of delivery. To make it smooth:
- The item must be unused and in its original packaging.
- Have your order number handy.
- Contact us first for a Return Authorization (RMA) before shipping anything back — it lets us track your return and get your refund out faster. Returns sent without an RMA may be delayed or refused.
Exchanges
Ordered the wrong part or fitment? If your order hasn't shipped yet, call us right away and we can usually swap it before it goes out — no return needed.
Once an order has shipped, we handle it as a standard return for the original item plus a new order for the correct one. Not sure what fits your cart? Ask Lithium Larry or call us before you order — we'd rather get it right the first time.
Items That Can't Be Returned
Some items can't be accepted back, due to manufacturer policy and safety regulations. Please double-check fitment on these before ordering — and call us if you're unsure, that's what we're here for:
- Electrical parts — controllers, motors, solenoids, voltage reducers, wiring, sensors, and switches
- Batteries — lithium and lead-acid
- Installed or used parts
- Custom-built and special-order items
- Wheels or tires that have been mounted
These items are still covered against defects and shipping damage — see warranties and damaged-shipment steps below.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order shows up damaged or we sent the wrong item, we'll take care of it — this is on us, not you.
- Take photos of the box and the product right away.
- Keep all packaging until it's resolved — don't toss anything.
- Contact us within a few days of delivery (sooner is better for freight claims, but reach out even if it's been a bit).
We'll file the claim and get a replacement moving promptly. For freight items, always inspect before signing and note any visible damage on the delivery receipt — it makes the claim far easier to resolve.
How Refunds & Restocking Work
When a return is approved, your refund goes back to your original payment method once we receive and inspect the item. A few things to know so there are no surprises:
- Some manufacturers charge a restocking fee on returned parts — typically 10–20%, and up to 25% on large or special-order items. These are set by the supplier (Nivel, EcoBattery, Navitas, and others), not by us.
- Original shipping costs aren't refundable, and return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect — in which case we cover it.
- For freight items (batteries, motors, large kits), we'll coordinate the return through the freight carrier for you.
We'll always tell you upfront if a restocking fee applies to your specific return before you send anything back.
Battery Warranties
Batteries can't be returned once sold, but they're backed by strong manufacturer warranties against defects. If you ever have a battery issue, start here — we'll help you through the claim:
